Tutorial: My Scanner Hates Me by Wolf-Suit Tutorial: My Scanner Hates Me by Wolf-Suit
Have you ever said the following?:
a) "Help! My scanner has killed my marker art!"
b) "The colours look much better in real life."
c) "My scanner is a piece of crap/ hates me/ is evil!"
d) All of the above.

Fret no longer, as this tutorial will solve all your problems and then make you a cup of tea when it's done. Repair your scanned marker artwork in four simple steps.

Demonstrated in Photoshop CS4.

Suggester's words: Scanning causes problems for many artists. When using scanners, sometimes, colours and details are subdued. With detailed descriptions, Tutorial: My Scanner Hates Me by *Wolf-Suit is attractively laid out and explained carefully step by step. A wonderful tutorial for all traditional artists. Thanks for this. It's such a nice tutorial that I'm actually a tad angry that it won't help. I went looking specifically because my R02/04 and my BV series markers always looked flat or grey. Oh well. Now at least I know that it's not my own incompetence.

Hello!
My problem is that I usually do black and white drawings with shadows in pencil. The shadows simply disappear when I scan.
Do you have any tips?
Thank you! : meow:

...I favorited this last night so I could use it, and I just now realized that my Photoshop doesn't have the "Adjustments" menu or the "Curves" option. Is there an alternative option to use (like Levels) that might have a similar effect?
